Preamble

“We”, “our”, and similar group pronouns throughout this document refer to the site owners, who also happen to be the authors.  References to the “site” refer to the ‘Live Well’ site.

 

First, Do No Harm

 

Our intent is to help, not to harm in any way.  We do not wish to cause injury in body, mind, or spirit, nor do we intend to defame or libel.  It is not our intention to malign any religion, ethnic group, club, organization, company, or individual.

 

Any injuries that may occur due to following tips, techniques, or suggestions posted on this site, either by our (the authors’) posts or in post comments or in the forums are not the fault of the site owners and authors.  We shall be held free of damages for any such injuries.  There are simply too many variables that can affect exercise-related injuries; using too much weight, improper technique, order of exercises, sleep deprivation, lack of concentration, previous injuries, etc.


Get a physical

Please remember that before beginning any exercise program you should ensure that you are healthy and that your body is ready to hold up to the wear and tear of the regimen you are considering.  Usually this is by getting a physical and talking with your doctor.

Not professionals

The owners and authors of this site are not doctors, lawyers, certified personal trainers, registered dieticians, expert mountain climbers, underwater basket weavers, or a variety of other things, and we are not claiming to be experts, even in things that we are pretty good at.  Content of this site should be considered for informational purposes only.  Nothing contained in this site is or should be considered, or used as a substitute for, medical advice, diagnosis or treatment.

 

Even if our status changes in the future and we become certified, registered, accredited, or win a basket weaving contest, our posts are still not intended to be taken as expert counsel.  We are here to tell others what we have found and to share our information as well as our love for health and fitness; we are not here to act as professional advisors. 

 

Think of us as peers or friends.  We may talk online, and we may even have good advice with resources to back it up.  The end result, however, is up to you.  Thus, we are not liable for any damages or injuries that may occur due to following advice or information posted on this site.

 

Know yourself

Every person’s situation is different.  You know yourself better than we do, and if you want an expert opinion, don’t seek it out over the internet.  Find a professional that you can meet with in person and talk to, who can learn about your particular situation.

 

A fast-paced field

In addition, the health and fitness field changes every day.  New information comes out about supplements, exercises, food, etc. and it can be difficult to keep up; that’s part of why this site is here.  That said, information we posted a year ago may no longer be valid.  For that matter, today’s posts may no longer be valid either.  Things change, and sometimes they change quickly.  We’ll do our best to keep up but keep in mind that the field is fluid.

Throughout this site there are various links to external web sites.  We are not responsible for content on any external sites, nor are we responsible for any damages that may occur by accessing such sites.  We will attempt to ensure that our links are up to date, but pages change, sites change, links get broken, and things happen.  We are not responsible for external sites in any way, shape, or form.

 

We all make mistakes

Finally, sometimes errors do occur.  We’ll try to keep this to a minimum, but we may make a mistake.  Again, we are giving personal advice, not professional, so don’t hold us accountable.  If something doesn’t make sense to you or just isn’t right, though, please comment or use the contact form to reach us so that we can correct it.  We really do appreciate it!

Files or other downloadables

On occasion, we may provide or suggest files that might be useful.  It’s not our fault if you download it and something breaks.  Usually when that happens, it’s a symptom anyway, not the real problem.

This site is written and owned by English speakers in America, it is hosted in the U.S., and it is expected to primarily be accessed in the U.S.  Nevertheless, the internet is a wide-ranging thing, and we’d love to have multinational visitors. 

 

While we try to be sensitive to others’ feelings, cultures and laws, we just don’t have the knowledge, time or pressing concern to ensure that every consideration is met.  Therefore, we are not to be held liable for any issues resulting from the reader’s access of this site based on the country of origin, be those issues cultural, legal, or religious.  We are also not to be held responsible for any improper use or statements bound to government, religious, or other laws from the reader’s country of origin, if outside the U.S.

 

In addition, we are not English professors.  We are not liable for any issue rising from translation, misinterpretation, poor grammar, poor punctuation, or any other language-related issue.
